Film Brief #10

I'm starting to realize I would never make it as a successful director, or script-writer, or quite frankly any creative job. It's a 9 days until my film brief is due, and I am still thinking of new ideas for what to make it about. I haven't started filming yet, so until I start that I can dedicate as much time as I want to rethinking and overthinking what my plot will center on, and no matter what happens I still ultimately have the zombie film to rely on, but the more I think about it the more I don't love that idea. It seems like it will be very uninspired, very run-of-the-mill, and whether or not my film brief is good (which it probably won't be), I at least want it to be something uniquely mine. My new idea is one in which I can actually act in it as well as film it, as well as one that can excuse the probably terrible camera quality that will come from my phone.
My new plot idea is to film in my room, with some kind of confessional-type scene in which I'm speaking directly to the camera, as if in the scene I am recording myself. The plot will still be a zombie movie, however it will be more comedic and introspective. The film will begin in the midst of a zombie outbreak, and my character is somebody who has been stuck in their room avoiding the zombie virus. The film will be very heavily inspired by the pandemic and my experience in it, and I think it is a movie that would be both original and very familiar to everyone, since the experience of being stuck in your room with a deadly virus infecting the outside world is one that everyone shares.
